Update on parking outside Hatton

7 March 2019 (by Michael Andrews (mandrews19.317))

Dear Parents and Carers, I am writing to give you a further update about the parking situation outside the school after my meeting with a representative from parking yesterday.

As stated in my last letter anyone issued with a penalty notice last month should give me a copy which I will forward to the council and this will be cancelled. I have been assured that Hatton parents and taxis dropping and collecting pupils may park on the Zig Zags outside the school both in the morning drop off and afternoon pick up times and no further parking enforcement will take place at these times until better parking provision is in place for parents.

The best news is that the council now plans to reduce the zig zag area outside the school and create a number of ‘parent drop off parking bays’ outside the school which will be clearly marked and other cars will not be able to use these bays at our drop off and pick up times; this will then be routinely enforced and penalty notices issued to anyone using the bays who are not Hatton parents dropping off and picking up. This will greatly ease the situation for parents who drop and collect their children at the school and next week I will get more information about when these bays will be created and will keep you posted.

Please note that as there is currently no restriction on parents parking on the Zig Zags no parent vehicles will be allowed to drive onto the school site between 8.15am and 9.30am or between 2pm and 3pm. This will greatly improve the safety for all of the children.

Please note that as before if you have an appointment or meeting at the school including annual review meetings there is no parking available on site so please allow additional time to park and walk.

Yours sincerely
