Relationships, Sex and Health Education

Here at Hatton School we want all of our children to live safe and happy lives. We believe that by teaching a relevant and engaging PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education) syllabus we can support our learners to develop the skills they need to live their lives well and safely. We have recently improved our PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education) curriculum by bringing it up to date and in line with the Government guidance for the teaching of Relationships, Sex and Health education. As always we value feedback and questions from families and are looking forward to inviting you to virtual coffee mornings and information evenings on 5thMay and 1stJuly to explore our new improved curriculum. We can’t wait to share some of our new resources and ideas about teaching this important subject with you. In the meantime, should you have any questions or comments please email: rshe@hattonspecialschool.co.uk

Prior to the information evenings we would like to share our draft policy with you, to explain what, how and why we will be teaching Relationships and Health Education at Hatton School. The parental consultation period for the policy will run until June 25th 2021. You can let us know your thoughts on the policy by answering the survey that has been sent via Groupcall on email to all parents /carers. An additional copy of this can be found  by logging into Hatton Schools VLE and navigating to the relationship and Health Education learning site.

The Department for Education has also published a helpful guide for parents about the statutory changes to Relationships, Sex and Health education. You can read this here:
