Supporting Communication & Disclosures
Becuase many of our pupils at Hatton have complex speech, language, and communication difficulties, our staff are highly trained to be exceptionally vigilant. We used specialised communication tools, including visual aids, signs, and symbols to ensure every child has a voice and can express how they feel.
If a child communicates or discloses a worry to an adult, our team is trained to:
- Listen with absolute care, patience, and without judgement.
- Reassure the child that they have done the right thing by sharing
- Take immediate, supportive action to ensure their safety
- Pass information directly and securely to our Designated Safeguarding Lead.
