Teacher - Maternity Cover Vacancy

TEACHER OF SEN ( Maternity Cover)

SALARY: Teacher Pay Scale for Greater London, plus SEN 1 allowance

 For 29th October 2018

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Hatton is a large primary aged special school provision, which welcomes pupils into a safe and secure environment that allows them to learn, grow and achieve their potential.  Pupils are valued and respected for who they are by a team of tolerant, approachable and highly skilled adults.  Hatton School is located on the outskirts of London, which means excellent transport links into London.  We provide for pupils from the ages of 3 – 11 years with autism, social communication difficulties, speech and language needs and complex learning difficulties with associated behaviours.  Most pupils have additional learning needs.  We currently have 26 classes and capacity for 191 children.  We also have a well-respected outreach service which provides support for pupils with a range of needs in primary schools across the borough of Redbridge.

We have a strong commitment to developing the skills and knowledge of those who work with us, supporting families, carers and the wider school community.  Staff, parents and visitors describe the school as welcoming.  As a school we value teamwork, supporting one another and acknowledging everyone’s contribution.  Staff strive to reach their own potential and make the most of everyone’s skills and contributions.  New staff are well supported and encouraged to develop new skills.

Hatton School was rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas during its last Ofsted inspection in February 2015.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher to join a dynamic and forward-thinking special school.  The position would suit a specialist SEN teacher, or a teacher with a particular interest or experience in special needs. Our curriculum model requires teaching staff to deliver across a range of subject areas, so no particular subject specialism is essential.

The successful candidate will join a creative and supportive team of leaders and colleagues with excellent educational standards.  The school offers excellent opportunities for CPD.  So, if you can be a good role model to our pupils, are a ‘cup half full’ kind of person and love working as part of a team, we would love you to come and join us!

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and it is our expectation that all staff and volunteers share this commitment.  The successful applicant will be required to complete an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

WE CAN OFFER

  • A commitment to your professional development
